These are links to websites I have strong affection for, for various reasons. Other great links can be found on the Gratitude page.
There is a comedic side to this author (as if you didn't already know)! Meet me at The Celestial Tea Room when you have some time to browse!
Bette Midler is much more than a wonderfully vocal star of stage and screen: she is my New York City Heroine for her work in establishing the New York Restoration Project and for teaching people about the wisdom of composting. Thanks to her, Nomaris as well as New York City got a bit greener than it originally started out to be!
Don't miss out on a long browse at Fungi Perfecti! In fact, order their catalog; it's a real eye-opener. While you are at the site, check out the electron microscope photos and all the fun grow-at-home mushroom kits. Do you know what a hericium mushroom is? DELICIOUS!
Another most excellent site for the fungi-phile is David Fischer's American Mushrooms site. Pictures galore, plus David is a really nice man (and talented musician!) dedicated to helping anyone fascinated by mycology. We can vouch for this, as we sure called on him a lot when field guide photos were not good enough and we didn't have a microscope to help with spore idenifications. He also came to the rescue with preservation tips when we had a bountiful harvest of fragrant chanterelles several years ago! (YUMMY!)
Care2 is a lovely website where you can find every "Click to Donate" button there is, send great e-mail cards for free, sign petitions for good causes and connect with like-minded individuals around the world. If you are one of those people who would like to Help the World, this is a friendly place to start.
I wish on Everyone: Great Joy, and I know an author and speaker who is very good at helping people get in touch with their inner Goddess (or God) of Humor. Her name is Loretta LaRoche. Life getting to be too frenzied and crazy for you? Stressed to the max? Go See Loretta.
